Re-Inventing the Bike
Telepathy Bikes is the result of Matt Lessmeier’s multi-year effort to rethink how a mountain bike should move and feel beneath a rider. By developing an entirely new linkage system and validating it through extensive real-world riding and destructive testing, he’s challenged long-held assumptions about suspension behavior and consistency. My role as art director has been to translate that deeply technical work into a clear, cohesive visual and narrative language—shaping the brand, graphics, and communication so the innovation is immediately legible without losing its mystery. Together, the project balances engineering rigor with play, curiosity, and restraint.
The Sea Otter Classic
Right outside Santa Cruz, California the Sea Otter Classic is the largest mountain bike exposition in the country, and possibly the world. Telepathy Bikes set up in front of thousands of eyes. Booth layout, posters, schematics, all designed by Maximum Studios.

Marketing Metrics
Maximum Studios has been in charge of marketing and running the Telepathy social media account since November 2025. By choosing Maximum, Telepathy has tripled it’s following on Instragam, achieved posts with nearly half a million views, and grown the waitlist by over 200%.

The Process
The process behind the Telepathy project has been deliberate and iterative, driven by testing, revision, and a willingness to discard ideas that didn’t earn their place. Visual decisions evolved in parallel with engineering changes, allowing the brand to stay honest to the bike as it developed rather than getting ahead of it. This approach required close collaboration, constant recalibration, and a shared commitment to clarity over spectacle.
